Puppy Socialising – Start them young

Puppy Socialising in Washington, Tyne & Wear

Socialise your puppy in a safe and playful environment. Dragon vets in Washington, Tyne & Wear, run puppy socialising classes. Every Thursday from 6.30pm till 7.30pm your puppy can meet other puppies of their age to play and have fun in a safe environment.

Socialising your puppy from an early age is very important to get them used to being around other dogs and other people.

Can any new puppy attend the classes?

Once you have come along to the practice and introduced your new puppy, you can bring them along to the classes between your puppy’s vaccinations. The classes are for young puppies who are not yet allowed to go out for a walk and socialise with other dogs. It gives them a chance to meet with other puppies their age and have fun in a safe and controlled place.

In order to attend we require the puppy to have had their first vaccination and to be aged between 8 weeks and four months old. You don’t have to be registered with Dragon Vets to attend, but we do require proof of the above.

What do the puppy socialising classes entail?

The puppy socialising classes are led by Tim Jackson from Pets2Impress who is a registered and qualified veterinary nurse with qualifications in canine training and behaviour. They last around one hour and are a great opportunity for both the puppies and owners to make new friends.

During the session our trained veterinary nurses will also talk about…
  • General care for your puppy
  • What we vaccinate for and why
  • Worms, fleas and ticks
  • Microchipping
  • Insurance for your puppy
  • Diet and dental health
  • Neutering
  • Training advice

The whole session however is based around fun for your puppy and getting them used to being around other puppies the same age.

We charge a small fee of £5 for each session.
