Unit 7 Concord House, Concord, Washington, Tyne & Wear. NE37 2AS
A veterinary surgery has been in Concord House since 1985, originally part of Clark & Scott. It moved into the courtyard in 1996 as Clark, Scott & Henfrey when a dedicated operating theatre, radiography and kennelling were added.
The practice separated from Sheriffs Highway Veterinary Group in 2005 when Andrew and Julie Henfrey formed Dragon Veterinary Centre to offer high quality first opinion and dermatology referrals.
The facilities were expanded to include ultrasound scanning and video endoscopy.
History of the Practice
A fire in the Spring of 2006 destroyed the roof of the southern half of the building, but fortunately did not directly affect the practice. At the end of the six month rebuild an additional office unit was taken to allow room for the expanding staff and case load.
After a rigorous inspection by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons the practice was awarded Tier 2 Approved Practice status in 2006. This has been renamed to Small Animal General Practice.
Since 2005 the practice ran with two full-time and one part-time vet until August 2012 when the part-time role was made into a third full-time vet.
